The baffle measures 400 × 230 mm and offers a generously large physical area. It not only accommodates the drivers perfectly, but also provides a substantial forward-radiating surface on this rectangular baffle, facilitating effective coupling of low-frequency soundwaves.
The 400 × 230 mm baffle proportion is well suited for use as wall-mounted or custom in-wall main channels, as well as surround channels for large spaces. Compared with square or circular baffles, the rectangular shape delivers an asymmetric advantage in acoustic diffraction distribution. To a certain degree, it disperses comb-filtering artefacts induced by edge diffraction on the frequency response.
